Ryan Tomlin (R J Tomlin) is a poet and street-performer, or ‘busker’, from Leeds. Having spent two years selling his original poems on the streets of Leeds City Centre, as both his job and a way to get his name out there, Ryan now performs – or ‘busks’ – his poems to whoever is willing to listen. As well as Leeds, Ryan occasionally busks in York and Sheffield too.
Since becoming a poetry performer, Ryan has performed at Farsley Festival at Hainsworth Park, Yorkshire Day at Leeds Kirkgate Market, and An Evening of Authors in Huddersfield Library for Men’s Mental Health. He has also been featured on the EPOCH documentary series PEOPLE, as well as had part of his performance shown on BBC Two’s Politics Live.
Ryan has a repertoire of over 50 original poems, spanning various topics, such as: hope, love, loss, mental health, comedy/nonsense poetry, and more personal to him, the pursuit of passions – chasing dreams.
